Discover the hidden gems of Stoic philosophy in this exploration of Epictetus' fragments - those powerful passages preserved by other philosophers but lost from his main works.
We are sending out the free newsletter every Monday as before!
It's true, there are premium posts and some community features that you will not be able to access unless you subscribe. And we will ask you to subscribe on occasion. But otherwise, I do not think it is correct to say that the newsletter is lost.
Hi, thank you for the clarification. I had clicked on a "read more" on your latest post and got the "sorry you have to be a paying subscriber for $16/month to read more" which is why I unsubscribed. I resubscribed just now so that I could send you this. The problem with Substack free subscriptions is the number of posts sent to my email that I now see only part of, so I'm constantly being reminded of what I'm missing. To avoid these ads, I have to unsubscribe. I much preferred the direct simplicity of the email list.
Super sad to lose the newsletter, which has now turned into a Substack $16/month subscription. To be Stoic about it: bye bye!

The subscription is currently $8 USD per month.
