Hi Michael and Caleb, I’m confused about prohairesis. It seems like it’s Stoic doctrine after Epictetus that our prohairesis, or faculty of assent, is the only thing in our power. But in Discourses 1.28, Epictetus seems to say that we cannot control what we assent to, because we can only assent to what we believe is true.

So do we have power over our prohairesis or not?
